Operating Room Services Laboratory

The Operating Room Services Laboratory is shared with the Anesthesia Program. With a capacity of 30 students, our laboratory has been designed to closely simulate a real operating room environment. It is specifically designed to familiarize students with the operating room environment, workflow, and techniques before their hospital internships, allowing them to practice procedures under conditions that closely reflect actual clinical settings.

Students become familiar with operating room areas and equipment (such as operating lights and operating tables), medical devices, electrosurgical units, aspirators, autoclaves, consumable supplies, and textile materials. They also develop their manual skills by using surgical sets and instruments representing the main categories of surgical instruments, including cutting, clamping, grasping, and retracting instruments. Under the guidance of their instructors, students are able to perform all procedures included within their professional responsibilities, such as surgical hand scrubbing, surgical gowning, preparation of the sterile table, patient positioning, and surgical draping, using appropriate equipment and simulation models.
