 15 December World Tea Day




It is very difficult to come across a person who does not like tea. Although many people love coffee, tea holds a special place in everyone's heart.

December 15 is celebrated as International Tea Day in many countries around the world. In other words, it not only celebrates tea as a special beverage on the day in question, but also promotes sustainable tea production, trade and consumption.
 
There are different stories in various sources about the history of tea. According to one of them; The tea is believed to have been consumed in China about 5,000 years ago. According to the story, Chinese Emperor Shen Nurg first tasted tea when he took shelter under a tree with his soldiers. While boiling some water, the tea leaves blown by the wind fell into the mixture and the tea was discovered in this way by chance.
 
International Tea Day is important as it allows the tea industry to continue its critical role in fighting hunger, reducing poverty and protecting livelihoods and natural resources. They first started celebrating International Tea Day in New Delhi in 2005 and is now celebrated in countries such as A. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Nepal, Kenya, Indonesia and India.
