Remziye Hisar is the first female scientist to have studied science at Darülfünun and the first Turkish woman to complete her doctorate at Sorbonne University. He chose the chemistry department at Darülfünun and explained the reason for choosing chemistry with the following sentences: "I was devastated to see foreign names in science classes, be it in laws or in inventions. I thought I could overcome the frustration of not being able to see a single Turkish name in science if I was successful in this branch."
After the Republic was declared, she started to study chemistry at the Sorbonne University in Paris. She was the first student of Marie Curie, the first scientist to win the Nobel Prize twice. Remziye Hisar has published many textbooks on chemistry, and 16 papers in which her studies are included have been published in France. In addition, Remziye Hisar, who has been writing poetry since the 1920s, has published a poetry book called "Bir Kadın Sesi".
