 What is callus?

Due to the hard core in the callus, it can exert pressure on the membrane on the bone, causing destruction of the bone and serious pain.

It occurs as a result of the formation of a horny layer in the subcutaneous layer of the skin and the accumulation of hard “keratin” substance in the relevant area.

People with long-term traumas, constant pressure, irritation caused by friction, choosing the wrong shoes, working without gloves, and having scars or wart marks on the body constitute the risk group. In addition, individuals with diabetes and those with poor blood flow to the feet have a higher incidence of complications from calluses.

If there is bone tissue close to the skin, it can cause the destruction of the bone and severe pain by applying pressure to the membrane on the hard “core” bone in the callus.
Major Factors in Callus Formation
Use of inappropriate tight shoes
Use of high heels
Finger deformities (eg hammer and claw toes)
barefoot walking outside the home
Presence of standing Pes Planus or Pes Cavus deformities
Prominence of bony prominences in the foot
