 Foot Deformities

When foot deformities are not treated, they lead to very serious and permanent disorders. One of the most common of these deformities is the flat foot (pes planus) deformity.

Components of the lower extremity include the thigh, knee, leg, and foot and are very important in performing the gait function. For this reason, a defect in one of the parts of the structure affects the mechanics of this region, but also affects the pelvis and spine to which it is connected, and impairs gait functions. When foot deformities are not treated, they lead to much more serious and permanent disorders. One of the most common of these deformities is the flat foot (pes planus) deformity.

Pes Planus (Flat Foot)

Pes planus is the congenital or acquired medial longitudinal arch in the foot that is lower than the normal arch height or a more collapse than normal when the load is placed on it. Wrong shoe selection can often be shown among the causes of flat feet that develop later.

Exercise approaches and orthotic supports are of great importance in the correction of this pathology. Insoles or reinforcements that support the medial longitudinal arch with reduced height in pes planus;
-reducing tension on the sole of the foot,
- shifting the load to the lateral side of the foot and
-It is applied to prevent deformity development.
