75. TUBERCULOSIS (TB) EDUCATION AND PROPAGANDA WEEK

Tuberculosis is still an important public health problem. Tuberculosis Education and Propaganda Week is celebrated on the first Sunday of January every year. It is aimed to inform the society against tuberculosis disease and to draw the attention of all segments. The causative agent of tuberculosis disease is Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis) complex bacilli. The definitive diagnosis of the disease is made by isolating M. tuberculosis bacilli from the clinical sample. There is comprehensive information in the "Tuberculosis Diagnosis and Treatment Guide" updated by the Ministry of Health in 2019.
