Precision Holders in Removable Partial Prostheses
Istanbul Gelisim University Lecturer Dentist Nuri Yeniev gave information about removable dentures. Nuri Yeniev said, "It is possible to make more aesthetic prostheses with precision attachment prostheses."
Regardless of the reason, tooth deficiencies should be corrected with dental prostheses. These deficiencies can be corrected with fixed or removable prostheses. These prostheses, where we provide the lost function and aesthetics, create a serious change in patients. Generally, we try to prefer fixed prostheses for their stability and ease of use, but in cases where fixed prosthesis cannot be made, removable prostheses are considered.
Removable dentures can be used in partial or complete missing teeth. Partially removable dentures are usually made of acrylic with a metal infrastructure. Today, however, precision-retained prostheses attract attention with their aesthetic and stability advantages. These prostheses, which are popularly called "snap-pin" prostheses, provide a great aesthetic advantage because the clasps are not visible. The teeth that will support the sensitive retainers should be covered. This situation extends the life of the tooth by balancing the forces on the support tooth.
