 About Single Course and Grade Improvement Exam

Dear Students,
 
Our students who are about to graduate can fill out the form below between 28.08.2023 and 08.09.2023 to apply for the 2022-2023 Summer School Single Course and Grade Improvement Exam and send it to shmyo@gelisim.edu.tr with the extension *****@ogr.gelisim.edu.tr. You must send it via student e-mail or come to the secretariat and fill out a petition.
Exams will be held online on 13.09.2023.
 
Single Course Exam
Students who are at the graduation stage and have only one theoretical course remaining, which they have previously taken and failed, can apply for the exam. Whether or not a summer internship has been completed is not an obstacle to application.

Grade Improvement Exam
Students who have been successful and conditionally successful in all their courses, but who could not graduate because their GPA is less than 2.00 out of 4.00, can apply for the exam.

Note: Applications sent after 17.00 on 08.09.2023 will not be processed.
 
The articles regarding students who have the right to take the relevant exams in the IGU Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations are stated below:


  “Article 25 (7): (Amended: OG-13/6/2018-30450) Students who are successful or conditionally successful in all courses other than one course in the curriculum, other than the attendance requirement, can apply to the relevant deanery/directorate with a petition, without requiring registration to the course. They take a single course exam for the relevant course on the dates specified in the academic calendar. A student who fails a single course exam must re-register for the course in the following academic year. "After retaking the course, the student can take the single course exam again on the dates specified in the academic calendar."
 
“Article 25 (9): (Amended: OG-13/6/2018-30450) Have taken all the courses in the curriculum and have been successful or conditionally successful, but could not graduate because their GPA was less than 2.00 out of 4.00; Associate degree students are given the right to take GPA increase exams in the last two semesters, and undergraduate students are given the right to take GPA increase exams on the dates specified in the academic calendar for the courses they want in the last four semesters. For the student to take the GPA increase exam, he/she must apply to the dean's office/directorate with a petition stating the courses in which he/she will take the exam and inform them that he/she wishes to exercise his/her GPA increase exam right. Students who fail the GPA increase exam can take the GPA increase exam again in the following academic period in the courses they want, with the same application conditions, without being required to enroll in courses. The grade obtained in the GPA increase exam is processed as the success grade.”
